Collaborating with reputable institutions to train our professionals, ensuring practice meets global standards including ICD coding and EMR systems.
Advocating consistently for improved welfare, fair treatment, sustainable professional growth, and recognition of the HIM profession in Nigeria.
Leading the charge for Electronic Medical Records adoption across Federal Medical Centres and championing national health data governance.

This year’s theme, “Guardians of Health Information: Driving Healthcare Transformation Through Technology,” aptly reflects the vital and evolving role of Health Information Management Professionals in today’s rapidly transforming healthcare environment. As custodians of health data and information, we remain at the forefront of ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, accessibility, and security of health records, while leveraging technology to enhance healthcare delivery and strengthen health systems.
Healthcare transformation in the modern era is powered by reliable data, efficient information systems, and responsible digital innovation. Our profession stands as a cornerstone in this transformation, safeguarding the integrity of patient information while enabling evidence-based decision-making, quality healthcare planning, and improved patient outcomes.
As we officially declare this year’s HIP Week open on Monday, April 20th, 2026, I encourage all members to actively participate in the lined-up activities across the country.
